Sunday School

11am-12.10pm

Teaching the Bible to children is one of our great priorities at Buckingham Chapel.

Crèche rooms are available for children aged 3 and below (please ask one of the stewards for directions). All children older than this are invited to attend our traditional and yet innovative Sunday School.

This is held each week and provides a wonderful opportunity for children to increase their understanding of the Bible and also their need to develop their own saving relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ

Each week…

Both children and parents start the first part of our Sunday morning service in the main church building. A short children’s talk is normally given during this part of the service.

Children leave the service after the singing of the second hymn, to be led into the hall beneath the main church building for a time of group singing before being divided into four age-related classes.

Each class has its own dedicated teacher who will select a particular story from the Bible, and through a combination of study and craftwork / pictures / games, help the children understand the story and the way in which it should be applied to everyday life.

The conclusion of each lesson is aimed to coincide with the end of the morning service (approx 12.10pm), following which children are supervised by their teachers and other helpers until collected by their parents.

Special Bible clubs, containing several days of Bible teaching and lots and lots of fun are held in some the school holidays. Please keep on the lookout for signs on the church railings which advertise these – and then come along and join us!

Please be assured, in addition, that all adults who work with children at Buckingham have been DBS checked.
